It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

Hello, reader friends!

We hope you are having a great summer! Here in Iowa, we are trying to stay cool and dry. There has been a TON of flooding this past week. The Des Moines area got TEN inches of rain in a couple of hours on Saturday and it was CRAZY. Luckily, we stayed dry and did not have any water issues.

We hope you had a good weekend and that you have lots of good reading on deck for this week. We know we do! Read on to check out what will be in our stacks this week.

What are you reading this week?

  1. This upcoming week I'm reading 24 Hours in Nowhere, too! I hope you enjoyed it. I've also been very interested in getting my hands on The Prophet Calls, too! Have a great reading week, Amber, Cassie, and Haley!!

  2. It looks like you all had a wonderful reading week. I am sorry that I had to return the first Parker family book to the library unread. Why is that so many books arrive at the same time?

    1. I was blown away. Could not stop reading. I definitely know it'll spark some conversations in my classroom, so probably start with a disclaimer of what it is about, but it truly is something that had my attention. Knowing that Melanie has a background in religious studies really reassured me that she was familiar with what she was writing about. I was intrigued to say the least.

  4. 24 Hours in Nowhere is an awesome novel that shows readers that they are stronger when they work together and that it's possible to rise above your circumstances and not let them define you. Hope you stayed high and dry during the flooding. I have family and friends living in Ankeny and have seen a number of videos and pictures of the flash flooding. Yikes!

    1. It was so bad! Luckily we are south of the city and escaped any flooding. I feel so bad for those dealing with it. 😞
