June Reviews - GIF style!

14 Hollow Road Jenn Bishop - This one had me a little anxious because it is about the devastation a tornado can bring, but I always love books that bring out strong emotions! I would recommend this to late 4th graders and up.
A Sky Full of Stars by Linda Williams Jackson - This story. This story spurred from the murder of Emmett Till in the 1950s in Mississippi, needed to be told. I would recommend this to grades 6 and up.

The Peculiar Incident on Shady Street by Lindsay Currie - there were so many parts of this book that had my skin crawling! I know my readers that enjoy Mary Downing Hahn are going to enjoy this debut from Lindsey Currie!Grades 4 and up

Smart Cookie by Elly Swartz  - I couldn't get through this one fast enough and I adored the setting! Grades 4 and up.

Three Pennies by Melanie Crowder - I just wanted to hug the main character. All the emotions with this one. Definitely one of my favorites from 2017. Grades 4 and up.

Bubbles by Abby Cooper - When the main character, Sophie can see thought bubbles above her friends' heads and knows what they're thinking... Blessing? Or ... curse? Grades 4 and up.

The Explorers: The Door in the Alley by Adrienne Kress  - What a great adventure story! I've already gotten the thumbs up on this book from several of my former students! Grades 4 and up.

Zinnia and the Bees by Danielle Davis - Such an original story about a girl that has a unique problem with bees! Kids are going to love this unique book. Grades 3 and up.

Wish by Barbara O’Connor - This sweet book about a girl named Charlie gave me all the feels. Charlie is just trying to fit into her new and makes the same wish every day... Definitely, a must read! Grades 3 and up.

Fenway and Hattie by Victoria J. Coe - Love this story told from the point of view of Fenway, a very hyper and protective Jack Russell Terrier. Loved this one! And, most importantly, my kids adored this book during summer book club. Grades 3 and up.
